Our volunteers play a fundamental role in the success and future of Aerospace Bristol.
Aerospace Bristol is a new museum opened to the public in 2017. This is a hugely exciting time to join the team to help us enhance the visitor experience through your work with the collection. Our vision is an aerospace museum, which inspires, entertains and informs through the understanding of, and engagement with, the stories and collections of Bristol’s aerospace industry – past, present and future. It is, of course, also be home to the last Concorde ever built and the last to fly when it returned to its birthplace in 2003.
Cataloguing library books using the Trust’s Adlib cataloguing system, after training by the archivist. The task might suit someone who has previous experience working in a library or who is seeking to apply for a course in librarianship.
role reports to
Day to be negotiated, but maximum of one morning or afternoon per week.
Hours 10-12.30 or 13.00-15.30.
The role will be reviewed regularly.
Good IT skills
Ability and willingness to learn a new database system
Ability to accurately input data and to ensure data is input consistently
Attention to detail
Ability to search the internet for catalogue records
Ability to handle books with care
Ability to tolerate repetitive work
Willingness to work within and comply with Health & Safety requirements

Volunteers are asked to adhere to the terms of the volunteer agreement
Volunteers will be required to attend role specific training prior to commencing volunteering at the Museum
Volunteers must be prepared to undertake a Basic Disclosure check prior commencing their role
