Our volunteers play a fundamental role in the success and future of Aerospace Bristol.
This is a hugely exciting time to join the team to help us enhance users experience of the archives through your work with the catalogue system.
Our vision is an aerospace museum, which inspires, entertains and informs through the understanding of, and engagement with, the stories and collections of Bristol’s aerospace industry – past, present and future. It is, of course, also be home to the last Concorde ever built and the last to fly when it returned to its birthplace in 2003.
The volunteer will support with projects with different audiences in South Gloucestershire and Bristol. The Outreach team run a wide variety of events with lots of different people. One week you might be working with people with dementia in a care home, the next month you may be helping Under 5s to discover gravity through play. The sessions may be during the day, in evenings, and at weekends.
Tasks will include:
Interaction with the public and encouraging them to take part in activities
Leading and facilitating sessions with a wide range of different audiences
Delivering activities with families, children and young people
Supporting older people with object handling and other activities
Representing Aerospace Bristol at local, national and international events and supporting with marketing, learning activities and exhibitions outside the museum

TBC – Events across Bristol and South Gloucestershire
You will be approached about supporting with specific events, this could be anything from a couple of hours, to a whole day running STEM activities at an international air show. Opportunities will be shared with the Outreach Volunteers, who will have the chance to register their interest for a particular day or event. There are likely to be a couple of different opportunities every month, with a wide variety of people to work with. They will take place throughout the year.

Volunteers are asked to adhere to the terms of the volunteer agreement
Volunteers will be required to attend role specific training prior to commencing volunteering at the Museum
Volunteers must be prepared to undertake a Basic Disclosure check prior commencing their role
