Aerospace Bristol is a new industrial heritage museum and learning centre being developed at Filton, to the north of Bristol. It will tell the story of the region's world-class aerospace industry - past, present and future. The Aerospace Bristol project is being run by the Bristol Aero Collection Trust.

Trusts and Foundations

We are forever grateful to the Trusts and Foundations that lent their support during the museum’s early development stages. We have since continued to work with Trusts and Foundations that share our mission and values. Together, we are preserving the nation’s heritage whilst inspiring future generations to become the scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs of the future.

The generous support of Trusts and Foundations has allowed us to take thousands of visitors on an immersive and interactive journey through the decades of flight. They have supported our extensive learning programme allowing children and young people to make real-life links with STEM, and for inspirational museum stories and activities to be taken out into the community through outreach work. We have also been able to develop our volunteer programme to ensure Bristol’s heritage is preserved for current and future generations to experience and enjoy.

“British aviation was born and bred at Filton Airfield and, thanks to National Lottery players, the site is now a centre of excellence where the industry’s heritage can be truly celebrated. It’s exciting for Bristol and for everyone who is proud of and passionate about the contribution this area made to developments in air travel.”
Nerys Watts, Head of Heritage Lottery Fund South West

The Trusts and Foundations that support us benefit from:

·         The recognition of being associated with a new and award-winning museum

·         Presence across our physical and digital sites—visited by hundreds of thousands each year

·         Reaching and engaging with a broad range of audiences from our 160,000 visitors each year

·         Being part of a new and exciting museum that is encouraging STEM learning amongst young generations whilst preserving a nationally significant collection and archive
