The Miracle on the Severn

Join Aerospace Bristol this February half-term and discover the incredible story of the Miracle on the Severn. Find out why the pilot of a Bristol Britannia was forced to attempt a daring emergency landing on the Severn Estuary and how, seventy years ago this February, his bravery and skill saved the lives of everyone on board. 

You'll also explore the history of the Bristol Britannia - known as the 'Whispering Giant' - through a newly enhanced exhibition that examines the role the Britannia played in the 1950s golden era of flight, plus design your own passenger airliner & discover even more with daily Britannia spotlight talks.


Britannia cockpit tours

Don't miss your chance to step inside the cockpit of a Bristol Britannia this half-term! 

Join one of our expert guides as we open up the cockpit and tell the amazing story of how Chief Test Pilot Bill Pegg made an emergency landing on the mud flats of the River Severn, seventy years ago this February.

Britannia cockpit tours will run daily throughout February half-term (10th to 18th February) and are included with museum admission.


The British Model Flying Association

Monday 12th & Tuesday 13th February

The Beaufort Model Flying Club, a branch of the BMFA will be at Aerospace Bristol on the 12th and 13th February.

The BMFA will be doing drone demonstrations and bring with them a vast collection of models including the smallest drone on the market.

There will be multiple demonstrations throughout Monday and Tuesday and they last approximately 20 minutes.

The Red Arrows Experience

Experience the thrills of the famous aerobatic team with Aerospace Bristol’s Red Arrows Experience Simulator.

Simulator tickets available to purchase online or at admissions upon arrival.
Younger visitors can also enjoy their own Red Arrows simulator located in the museum cafe.

Simulator tickets are available to book online now and are also available to purchase from admissions upon arrival (subject to availability).

Please choose a date when booking. Your ticket entitles you to one flight, lasting approximately five minutes. A valid museum ticket is required along with your simulator tickets.
