BUY NOW: Thursday 5th November - National Engineering Day

1 hour sessions are available to explore the importance and brilliance of engineering. Discover what an engineer does and ask a real engineer about their career. Build your understanding with hands on activities. End your day with fun craft activities.

10.15-11.15 for up to age 11

11.30-12.30 for ages 11+
Building activity. Meet an engineer. And much more.

13.30- 14.30 All ages welcome.
Crafternoon – Crafting activities linked to engineering. Family activities. Messy and fun! Pay for young people only.

Adult supervision is mandatory.
Adult supervisors do not need to buy a ticket for workshops or tours, but a valid ticket is require for museum entry.

The next Home Education Day will be on Wednesday 21st January - 50th Anniversary of Concorde’s first commercial flight. Tickets available soon.

Home Education Group Visits

Home Education groups of 15 or more can access discounted rates and education workshops for their learners.

  • The discounted rates are £8 per child and £14 per adult  

  • Free entry for the group leader (with 15 or more paying visitors)

  • If you are travelling by coach we offer free coach parking and entry for the coach driver (coach spaces are limited so please let us know in advance that you are travelling by coach)

 You can book an educational workshop as part of your experience. Workshops are £60 each and have a capacity of up to 20 learners. Children must be accompanied during their workshop by their responsible adult.

Our STEM workshops suitable for mixed ages:

 Blast off Rockets: (suitable for both younger and older learners)

Uncover the physics of escaping the Earth. Discover the science behind how rockets are shaped and powered for space travel. Create, test and optimise your own rocket design ready for launch.

 Mission to Mars: Cracking Coding (suitable for younger learners)

In this interactive workshop, put your scratch coding skills to the test by trying to complete a research mission on Mars. Once you have successfully programmed their Mars rover to collect rock samples, you will work scientifically to investigate which Martian material will be best for building homes on the planet.

- Computing (Coding), Maths and Science (Space, Chemical Reactions)

 Mission to Mars: Winning Prototypes (suitable for older learners)

Look to the future of aerospace engineering by developing a prototype of a new Mars rover. Work as a team to design, build and test a Mars rover. Compete with your classmates to meet the criteria of a design brief and produce the best prototype for the mission.
