Aerospace Bristol is a new industrial heritage museum and learning centre being developed at Filton, to the north of Bristol. It will tell the story of the region's world-class aerospace industry - past, present and future. The Aerospace Bristol project is being run by the Bristol Aero Collection Trust.

Fully equipped learning spaces

Aerospace Bristol features fully equipped learning spaces with specialist facilities for school and youth groups. We have worked with our partners from the aerospace industry to develop an inspiring and practical learning programme which will not only allow visitors to explore our amazing local history story but develop STEM skills and discover the possibilities of a career in engineering.

Early Years Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1

We blend history and storytelling with STEM learning as pupils design and test their own paper aeroplane, exploring the history of flight. Find out more >

Explore the physics of rocketry before designing and testing their very own rockets - just like the engineers of Filton’s Dynamics and Space Division! Find out more >

Key Stage 3

Discover how aircraft changed and developed during WW1 and the key role that Bristol played and design and test your own parachute prototype for WW1 pilots in this fun and hands-on session. Find out more >

Key stage 4/5

Discover the physics behind why rockets have been championing space travel and exploration for decades. Use this learning to develop your own rockets, testing and improving it throughout the session. Find out more >

2019 is the anniversary of Concorde’s first flights. Why not introduce your students to this Bristol icon with one of our brand new workshops exploring Concorde’s amazing technology and history. Whether you are looking to delve into the historical sources of our amazing archive or explore the incredible technological innovations of Concorde’s design to inspire your class, we’ve got a workshop for you.

Entry price: £6 per child

Workshops: An additional £2.50 per child

Workshops are priced per child for groups of 20 or more. Please get in touch to discuss prices for smaller groups.

Free adults:

  • Reception to Year 5: 1 adult to every 6 children 

  • Year 6 to Year 8: 1 adult to every 8 children

  • Year 9 to Year 13: 1 adult to every 10 children

You may add additional adults if you wish, with entry priced at £8pp.
