October 14 2016 - Aerospace Bristol has celebrated a major milestone in the construction of the new home of Concorde, with a topping out ceremony for the museum’s Concorde hangar attended by HRH The Princess Royal.
HRH The Princess Royal toured the site and met with Aerospace Bristol volunteers, who are hard at work preparing the exhibits for display in the new museum, then unveiled the first piece of a feature wall: a specially engraved aeroplane sculpture to mark the occasion.

April 11 2019 - As Patron of Aerospace Bristol, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal witnessed the dramatic moment that the last Concorde to fly sprang back to life, as Concorde’s ‘droop nose’ was lowered and the landing lights illuminated for the first time since November 2003.
Aerospace Bristol has celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of Concorde’s first British flight with a dinner kindly attended by HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of the museum.
HRH The Princess Royal opens new Conservation in Action Workshop at Aerospace Bristol
July 16 2021 - HRH The Princess Royal visited Aerospace Bristol as the museum’s Patron and formally opened its new Conservation in Action Workshop.
The ceremonial opening marks the completion of the 106-year-old hangar’s restoration, with museum staff and volunteers now preparing the new workshop to welcome visitors in August.
After becoming the first person to clock-in to the new workshop, The Princess Royal was escorted on a tour by the museum’s Chair, Professor Iain Gray CBE, who introduced Her Royal Highness to supporters, donors, conservation volunteers and members of staff. The tour included conservation projects, archive materials relating to the hangar and the history of aerospace engineering in the region, and a demonstration of the English Wheel metalworking tool.
