Claire Hazelgrove is the Labour MP for the Filton and Bradley Stoke constituency, first elected in July 2024.
Since before Claire was elected, she has strongly supported the work Aerospace Bristol does in both preserving our local heritage here, whilst also inspiring the next generation of aerospace innovation in the Greater Bristol area and beyond. With many generations of her family having served in the RAF, Claire was taught by her Grandad to always look to the sky and could spot and name carrier planes from a young age.
In Parliament, Claire currently serves the Government as Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, previously Chief Secretary to the Treasury, and – prior to that – at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Prior to these appointments, Claire served on the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, and as Vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Financial Education for Young People.
Claire is passionate about doing politics differently and is experienced in putting people's voices at the heart of policy change and how public services work. Before being elected as an MP, Claire worked for B-Corp agency supporting councils and the wider public sector to do this effectively, the Tony Blair Institute, well-known charities – including focusing on housing, the environment and global poverty – and on major UK and US election campaigns.
She lives locally in Bradley Stoke.
