Light Fantastic – Spectrometry and Space
In this investigative workshop, build your own spectrometer and discover how we use light from across the cosmos to explore and understand the nature of the universe via absorption and emission spectra, Doppler shift and much more.

Blast-off Rockets: The Science of Space Travel
Discover the physics behind why rockets have been championing space travel and exploration for decades. Use this learning to develop your own paper rocket, testing and improving it throughout the session.

Mission to Mars: Meeting the Brief
Take on the role of an ESA design team developing the next generation of Mars rover. Together, you will explore the parameters of design when developing for space missions. Teams will work closely to a design brief set by industry experts to create their prototype and compete to win the contract for their company.

Museum entry is £8 per student
For groups of more than 20 students, workshops are an additional £3 per student. For smaller groups a flat rate of £60 per workshop is applied.
