Assembled here at Filton, the Giotto, a Cometary Research Probe helped scientists make leaps in space exploration.

On the 40th Anniversary of Giotto completing its mission to photograph Halley’s Comet you can hear a special spotlight talk. It was on the 13th March 1986 that Giotto passed within 400 miles of the Comet allowing scientists to confirm it was a primitive remnant of the solar system and billions of years old. Join a talk to discover the fascinating story of the European Space Agency’s first deep space probe.

Talks will take place on 13 & 14 March, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, please check on the day for specific timings.
