Aerospace Bristol Chair Iain Gray appointed Knight Bachelor in King’s Birthday Honours.

Aerospace Bristol is delighted to congratulate our Chair, Professor Iain Gray CBE on his appointment as Knight Bachelor in the King’s first Birthday Honours.

Iain played an instrumental role in creating and establishing our museum, Aerospace Bristol.

Sally Cordwell, Aerospace Bristol CEO said: “We are delighted to hear that Iain has been appointed Knight Bachelor. This much-deserved honour demonstrates Iain’s dedication to the aerospace industry and to inspiring future generations of engineers.

Aerospace Bristol would not be the success it is today without Iain’s generous support and unwavering commitment. We are fortunate to have him as our Chair and we are extremely grateful for everything he has done and continues to do for the museum.”

Professor Iain Gray CBE is the Director of Aerospace at Cranfield University. Previously, Iain was Chief Executive of InnovateUK and prior to this, he was Managing Director and General Manager of Airbus UK.

Iain is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. He is also Chair to Bristol based digital engineering company CFMS Ltd and a non-exec Director to Graphene Company Versarien Ltd.
