18 British Airways Cabin Crew uniforms spanning eight decades land at Aerospace Bristol for new exhibition!
Aerospace Bristol’s new autumn exhibition, The Fashion of Flight begins tomorrow, alongside the last Concorde ever to fly.
18 mannequins adorned in British Airways cabin crew uniform, spanning eight decades, from the 1940s to the present day, will be displayed in the museum’s Concorde Hangar.
Visitors will be able to trace the evolution of these uniforms across the decades with changing fashion trends and learn about how perceptions of the cabin crew role have evolved.
The display will include iconic pieces like the BOAC Paper Dress from 1967, manufactured by Joseph Lore Inc., and the 1969 BOAC uniform designed by Clive Evans, inspired by the “London look.”
Excitingly, visitors will have a chance to try on hats and headpieces from certain uniforms and dive into the life of a British Airways cabin crew member.
The Fashion of Flight exhibition will be on display until Sunday 17th November.
