Primary School Students Take Over Aerospace Bristol

Today, Aerospace Bristol welcomed students from Little Stokes Primary School to 'take over' the museum and step into key roles. To start the day, students received an expert tour from Aerospace Bristol volunteers Ian Smith and Maggie Aherne. They helped the students select their favourite exhibits before the children researched and planned their very own tour.

Before delivering their tours, the students had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Aerospace Bristol archive, where Head of Collections, Learning & Interpretation, Amy Seadon, showed them various artefacts from WWII, including the belongings of a WWII gunner.

One lucky visitor to the museum had the chance to hear the children’s tour and was delighted to learn from their interesting facts. The day ended with a recap of their favourite exhibits, as the students wrote a blog post, imagining themselves as part of the museum's marketing team.

It was a fantastic day full of knowledge-sharing, skill-building, and the students gained a deeper understanding of the museum’s history. The museum cannot wait to welcome more students next year for another Take Over Day.
