Aerospace Bristol ready for spotlight as BBC Points West visit for Fashion of Flight feature

Aerospace Bristol is preparing for a special feature on BBC Points West, highlighting the captivating Fashion of Flight exhibition. The exhibition features 18 mannequins, all dressed in British Airways cabin crew uniforms spanning eight decades from the 1940s to the present day. It aims to showcase the changing perceptions of the cabin crew role and the societal shifts that have influenced these changes.

Earlier today, the BBC visited the museum to delve into the stories behind each uniform. They spoke with Amy Seadon, Head of Collections, Learning & Interpretation, who provided behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the exhibition and the history of the uniforms. The team also chatted with Zsuzsanna Nagy Cooke, a volunteer at Aerospace Bristol and former cabin crew member with 14 years of experience.

To catch the exciting segment, tune in to BBC Points West next Tuesday. For those unable to watch, the feature will also be available on iPlayer.

The Fashion of Flight exhibition is currently on display in the Concorde Hangar and will run until the 17th November.
