Aerospace Bristol gearing up to host third Home Education Day

After a successful Home Education Day in April, Aerospace Bristol is inviting families to a third Home Education Day on Wednesday, 23rd April. This event is designed to inspire young minds in the world of STEM through interactive workshops and a guided tour of the museum’s Heritage Hangar.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Lights, Camera, Discover (Ages 5-11)
Young learners will explore how light travels, build their own periscope, and discover how telescopes use light to observe the universe.

  • Light Fantastic (Ages 12+)
This investigative workshop allows participants to build a spectrometer and explore how cosmic light advances our understanding of the universe. Topics include absorption and emission spectra, the Doppler shift, and more.

Both workshops will take place in minimal to no light for an extended period.

Guided Heritage Hangar Tour
Attendees will also embark on a guided tour of the Heritage Hangar, tracing a century of Bristol’s aviation achievements—from the early Bristol Boxkite to the city’s contributions to space exploration and the cutting-edge AERALIS Modular Aircraft System.

Have you ever dreamed of piloting a jet like the legendary Red Arrows? Aerospace Bristol’s Red Arrows Simulator offers an immersive experience, making you feel like part of the famous aerobatic team.

Note: An accompanying adult ticket must be purchased for any child using the simulator.
