🚀 Look who’s landed at Aerospace Bristol
Aerospace Bristol is excited to announce that Beagle 3, the space-exploring Gromit designed by Tim Sutcliffe and sponsored by trail partner Rolls-Royce plc, will be joining the Gromit Unleashed 3 trail this summer. Beagle 3 will be on display at the museum from 30 June as one of 53 unique sculptures appearing across the region.
The name Beagle 3 is a nod to Beagle 2, the Mars lander project led by Bristol-born scientist Colin Pillinger, which was designed to search for signs of life on Mars.
There will also be plenty more to discover at Aerospace Bristol this summer. From 1 August, visitors will be among the first to experience Hangar 16R: Home of the Rolls-Royce Aerospace Collection. On Saturday 9 August, the museum will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Bristol Tramways, and on Thursday 14 August, it will mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day.
North Bristol is also home to a whole constellation of Gromits this year, with sculptures located at Brabazon, The Wave, West Country Water Park and Cribbs Causeway.
Visitors are encouraged to plan their trip, tick Beagle 3 off their trail map and make the most of a summer filled with discovery.
