The return of the Mach 2 Motor Show 2026

Supersonic Bloodhound, electric hypercar and 128-year-old steam engine to headline Aerospace Bristol’s biggest-ever motor show

A supersonic land speed vehicle, a record-breaking electric hypercar and the oldest vehicle ever displayed at Aerospace Bristol headline the museum’s biggest-ever Mach 2 Motor Show this Father’s Day weekend.

From an 1898 Burrel Showman’s Engine to the McMurtry Spéirling electric hypercar, hundreds of vehicles spanning 128 years of engineering innovation will fill Aerospace Bristol’s extensive outdoor spaces as the annual motoring spectacular returns larger than ever.

Among headline attractions is the Bloodhound Education Replica SSC Car, a full-scale model of the Bristol-designed supersonic land speed vehicle powered by a Rolls-Royce EJ200 jet engine, the McMurtry Spéirling electric hypercar, one of the world’s most innovative performance vehicles with links to Concorde, and a rare 1898 Burrell Showman’s Engine – expected to be the oldest vehicle ever exhibited at the museum.

Bloodhound and the McMurtry Spéirling will be displayed beneath Concorde, bringing together two of Bristol’s most iconic supersonic engineering achievements with a revolutionary automobile.

For the first time, the event this year introduces a brand-new steam and agricultural area, featuring a 1911 Aveling & Porter traction engine, vintage tractors and stationary engines, creating a striking contrast between Victorian engineering and some of the most advanced vehicles ever built.

Sally Cordwell, CEO of Aerospace Bristol, says: “The Mach 2 Motor Show has grown every year and 2026 will be our biggest yet.

“What makes the show unique is the extraordinary range of engineering on display. Visitors can see the 1898 steam-powered showman’s engine, supersonic land and sky speed vehicles and a state-of-the-art electric hypercar all in the same place.

Almost all of the event takes place outdoors across Aerospace Bristol’s site, creating a fantastic family festival atmosphere whilst showcasing the very best of British and Bristol transport and engineering history.”

Across the weekend visitors can explore hundreds of classic cars, sports cars, motorcycles, buses, coaches, military vehicles, tractors, steam engines and specialist vehicles from dozens of marques and enthusiast clubs.

Throughout both days, visitors will also be able to attend live ‘Paddock Interviews’ at a special pop-up stage, hearing directly from the owners and engineers behind some of the event's most fascinating vehicles.

The show will also mark 80 years since the creation of the first Bristol Cars prototype, the Bristol 400.

Aerospace Bristol will host outdoor food stalls with festival favourites through the weekend and tickets include access to all museum exhibitions, including the Concorde hangar, Hangar 16R: Home of the Rolls-Royce Aerospace Collection and the Conservation Workshop, which currently houses the Bristol Freighter T170 – the last remaining in Europe with conservation work freshly underway.

The Mach 2 Motor Show takes place at Aerospace Bristol on Saturday and Sunday of Father's Day weekend. Entry is included with standard museum admission and annual ticket holders can reserve a free ticket here.
