The countdown to The Fashion of Flight at Aerospace Bristol begins!
Aerospace Bristol’s new exhibition, The Fashion of Flight, is set to launch in just one week, on Thursday, 17th October. This temporary exhibition, located in the museum’s Concorde Hangar, will showcase 18 mannequins adorned in British Airways cabin crew uniforms spanning eight decades, from the 1940s to the present day.
The stunning display will feature iconic pieces such as the BOAC Paper Dress from 1967, created by Joseph Lore Inc., and the 1969 BOAC uniform designed by Clive Evans, inspired by the “London look.”
This exhibition explores the dynamic relationship between fashion and aviation over the decades, highlighting the evolution of these uniforms. It reflects the changing tides of fashion and culture, as well as the shifting perceptions of the cabin crew role.
The Fashion of Flight exhibition will be on display in the Concorde Hangar until Sunday 17th November.
