A week of success for the new exhibition at Aerospace Bristol
The inaugural week of the Fashion of Flight exhibition at Aerospace Bristol has concluded with remarkable success. Launched on Thursday, 17th October, to mark the museum’s 7th anniversary, this exhibition creatively explores the intersection of aviation and fashion and how each has influenced the other.
The Fashion of Flight exhibition showcases a range of British Airways cabin and flight crew uniforms from the 1940s to the present day, featuring iconic pieces like the BOAC paper dress, designed for Caribbean routes, and the fully tartan uniform of Caledonian Airways.
As the museum’s first-ever fashion exhibition, Fashion of Flight garnered significant national media attention from The Express, The Mirror, The Daily Star, and The Telegraph. The exhibition even landed on the front page of The Bristol Post.
Through this display, Fashion of Flight highlights how cabin crew uniforms have evolved over the decades, reflecting both changing fashion trends and shifts in the perception of the cabin crew role itself.
For October half term, the museum is also set to welcome back Loki, Billy and Midnight, the owls from the 26th to 28th of October.
On the 30th & 31st, see model planes take flight during demonstrations by the Beaufort Model Flying Club.
The Fashion of Flight will be open until Sunday, 17th November and is included with museum admission.
