Refurbishment of new outdoor picnic hut completed at Aerospace Bristol
Aerospace Bristol is delighted to announce that the refurbishment of the picnic hut, located between the museum’s Heritage and Concorde Hangars, is now complete. The picnic hut is designed for visitors to rest and enjoy their lunch.
The project began with reinforcing the shed's structure with additional timber to support the roof—a critical step for the hut’s longevity. Once the structure was properly finished, other details were addressed. New guttering was installed, and a fresh coat of paint was applied inside the hut. Wooden doors were added at the entrances, and the hut was rewired for new lighting and heating. These upgrades are crucial to making the hut a comfortable gathering spot for visitors, regardless of the season.
Aerospace Bristol extends heartfelt gratitude to volunteer and former Concorde chief engineer John Britton, the Britton family, and all the volunteers involved in this project for transforming the hut into a welcoming space for all.
