Marking the 80th Anniversary of the start of the Second World War
Join us as we commemorate this very special day with activities for all the family, including an exhibition of local stories and memories, film screenings, music from the era and much more.

Watch ten short stories marking this historic event. These stories will be played on the small screen as part of this free event, or enjoy on the big screen in our John James Theatre (museum tickets are required to gain access to the Theatre).
Activities
Enjoy cup and ball, paper dolls, paper aeroplane and sweet rationing activities. Share your stories and memories of the Second World War and listen to music from the era played in the café at 11am and 2pm.
Entry to this event is free and will be taking place in the Making Studio but if you want to visit the rest of the museum (including the John James Lecture Theatre) or step aboard Concorde, you will need a museum ticket.
