Aerospace Bristol Volunteers Share Their Favourite Part of the Museum
Aerospace Bristol boasts a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers who enrich every visit. Their knowledge and enthusiasm provide key insights into Bristol’s remarkable legacy in aviation and engineering.
Recently, the museum caught up with some of its volunteers to learn about their favourite parts of the site. Here’s what they shared:
Aerospace Bristol volunteer Ian Smith revealed that the rear section of Concorde is his favourite spot. He explains, “People are told the story of Concorde before they go onboard, but they often have obscure questions when they get off. I enjoy answering them immensely, and people are always fascinated by Concorde.”
Volunteer Maggie Aherne shares that her favourite object in the museum is the tram. She explains, “People wonder, why is there a tram in an aerospace museum? It represents the legacy of the great Sir George White and the company he founded.”
The volunteers at Aerospace Bristol engage with visitors from all walks of life, sharing their expertise and personal stories. Their passion plays a vital role in the museum’s mission to inspire and educate, leaving a lasting impact on all who pass through its doors.
