Easter Takes Off at Aerospace Bristol
Aerospace Bristol has enjoyed a fantastic start to the Easter holidays, welcoming families for a week packed with hands-on fun, aviation adventures, and delicious new dining experiences.
Throughout the first week, young visitors have been stepping into the shoes of pilots and passengers on the museum’s Chocs Away! trail. The interactive experience challenges families to uncover the fascinating food stories behind aviation history — from Bovril on early Bristol Scout flights to astronaut ice cream and the luxury dining served aboard Concorde. Those who complete all the food-themed challenges are rewarded with a chocolate prize, adding a sweet ending to their museum adventure.
Adding to the excitement, the Joystick Club joined Aerospace Bristol for the week, bringing along their fleet of charming pedal planes. Budding young pilots have been pedaling around in model aircraft, including a Hawk Trainer and a Spitfire, offering a playful, hands-on taste of life on the tarmac.
The week also marked the official opening of Flightline Kitchen + Bar — Aerospace Bristol’s brand new café, located in one of the museum’s Grade II listed aircraft hangars. The stylish new space is inspired by Bristol’s aerospace heritage, taking its name from the original ‘Flightline’ canteen that once served workers at Filton as they built iconic aircraft like the Bristol Britannia and Concorde. The café offers a menu packed with freshly prepared meals, sweet treats, and drinks, with seasonal options that showcase ingredients from local suppliers including Clifton Coffee, Severn & Wye Smokery, Bath Soft Cheese Company, and Hobbs House Bakery.
With more Easter holiday fun still to come, Aerospace Bristol is looking forward to welcoming even more families over the coming weeks. The Chocs Away! trail continues and the new Flightline Kitchen + Bar is open for visitors to refuel and relax.
