Terms and conditions
1. Terminology
The term “Bristol Aero Collection Trust” or “Aerospace Bristol” refers to Bristol Aero Collection Trust, whose registered address is The Clock Tower, 5 Farleigh Court, Old Weston Road, Flax Bourton, Bristol BS48 1UR.
Bristol Aero Collection Trust is a registered charity (registered charity number 1010632) and a company limited by guarantee (company registration number 02689238).
BAC Trading Limited (company registration number 05078738), whose registered office is The Clock Tower, 5 Farleigh Court, Old Weston Road, Flax Bourton, Bristol BS48 1UR, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bristol Aero Collection Trust and undertakes certain trading activities on behalf of the organisation.
In these Terms and Conditions:
· “Aerospace Bristol”, “we”, “us” and “our” means Bristol Aero Collection Trust and, where applicable, BAC Trading Limited.
· “You” and “your” means the purchaser and/or ticket holder.
· “Standard Admission Ticket” means an eligible admission ticket that provides 12-month return admission.
· “Special Event Day” means a designated day on which 12-month return admission does not apply, as described below.
2. General Information
Income generated through admission supports the charitable purposes of Bristol Aero Collection Trust, including the preservation, display, interpretation and enjoyment of Bristol's aerospace heritage and the museum's collections.
Where a visitor makes a qualifying Gift Aid donation and provides a valid Gift Aid declaration, Aerospace Bristol may claim Gift Aid from HM Revenue & Customs in accordance with the applicable Gift Aid rules.
Information about accessibility at Aerospace Bristol is available on our website or by contacting us on 0117 9315 315.
With the exception of assistance dogs, animals are not permitted inside the museum.
3. Opening Times
Our current opening days and times are published on the Aerospace Bristol website.
Opening times may vary throughout the year, including during seasonal periods, special events and public holidays.
Aerospace Bristol reserves the right to vary opening times or temporarily restrict access to individual exhibits, galleries, aircraft, experiences or areas of the site where reasonably necessary for operational, safety, conservation, maintenance, security or other circumstances.
Such changes do not normally entitle ticket holders to a refund or extension of their ticket, provided that the museum remains substantially available for the intended visit.
Visitors are advised to check our website for the latest information before travelling.
4. 12-Month Return Admission
Unless otherwise stated at the point of purchase, eligible Standard Admission Tickets provide the named ticket holder with return admission to Aerospace Bristol for 12 months from the date of their first visit.
An open-dated ticket must be activated by making the first visit within 12 months of its original purchase date.
Once activated, the ticket will expire 12 months after the date of the first visit.
Return admission is subject to:
· the museum's published opening days and times;
· these Terms and Conditions;
· any applicable capacity, safety or security restrictions; and
· designated Special Event Days as set out in Section 5.
A 12-month return ticket provides admission to the museum during normal public opening but does not automatically include separately charged experiences, tours, activities, exhibitions or events unless specifically stated.
Tickets are personal to the ticket holder and may not be transferred or resold.
Aerospace Bristol reserves the right to request reasonable proof of identity when a ticket is presented for a return visit.
5. Special Event Days
In accordance with HMRC rules relating to Gift Aid and annual admission, Aerospace Bristol may designate up to five days in any 12-month period as Special Event Days on which Standard Admission Tickets providing 12-month return admission will not be valid for free return admission.
Special Event Days may include major events, exhibitions, performances or other activities for which Aerospace Bristol determines that separate event admission arrangements will apply.
On a designated Special Event Day, holders of a valid 12-month return ticket may be required to purchase a separate event ticket if they wish to visit Aerospace Bristol.
We will publish details of designated Special Event Days on our website in advance and will endeavour to provide reasonable notice. Ticket holders are advised to check the Aerospace Bristol website before travelling.
Events or activities taking place outside the museum's normal public opening hours may be separately ticketed and are not included within Standard Admission Tickets or 12-month return admission.
Introduction of Special Event Days
These Special Event Day provisions apply to eligible Standard Admission Tickets first activated on or after 1 September 2026.
Tickets first activated before 1 September 2026 will continue to be honoured in accordance with the terms applicable when they were activated.
This transitional arrangement means that existing ticket holders will not have their admission entitlement retrospectively reduced as a result of the introduction of the Special Event Day provisions.
6. Gift Aid
Aerospace Bristol participates in the Gift Aid scheme and may claim Gift Aid on qualifying donations in accordance with HMRC requirements.
Where applicable, visitors will be given the opportunity to make the appropriate qualifying payment or donation and complete a Gift Aid declaration.
Eligibility for Gift Aid is subject to HMRC rules and the individual donor's circumstances.
The 12-month admission arrangements, including the ability to designate up to five Special Event Days, are operated in accordance with HMRC's rules for Gift Aid on admission to charitable attractions.
A visitor is not required to complete a Gift Aid declaration in order to receive the admission entitlement associated with the ticket purchased where that entitlement forms part of the applicable ticket offer.
7. Separately Ticketed Events and Experiences
From time to time, Aerospace Bristol may offer events, experiences, tours, exhibitions or other activities that require a separate ticket or additional payment.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, these are not included within Standard Admission Tickets or 12-month return admission.
Separate terms and conditions may apply to individual events or experiences and will be communicated at the point of purchase where applicable.
8. Online Ticket Purchases
When tickets are purchased online, confirmation will be sent to the email address provided by the purchaser.
It is the purchaser's responsibility to ensure that the information provided when purchasing the ticket is accurate and to check the confirmation received.
If you believe there is an error in your booking, please contact Aerospace Bristol as soon as possible.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
Admission tickets and tickets for separately ticketed events or experiences are non-refundable except where stated in these Terms and Conditions or where otherwise required by law.
If Aerospace Bristol cancels a separately ticketed event, ticket holders will normally be offered a refund of the price paid for the cancelled event ticket or, where appropriate, the opportunity to transfer to an alternative date.
Aerospace Bristol is not responsible for travel, accommodation or other associated costs arising from the cancellation or postponement of an event, except where required by law.
If a separately ticketed event is postponed, ticket holders will be informed of the revised arrangements and the options available, which may include transferring the ticket to the revised date or requesting a refund.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights.
10. Lost Tickets
Ticket holders are responsible for retaining their ticket or booking confirmation.
Where we are able to verify the original purchase and the identity of the ticket holder from our records, we may be able to assist with access to an existing booking.
Aerospace Bristol reserves the right to request reasonable proof of identity or purchase.
11. Resale and Promotional Use
Tickets may not be resold or transferred for commercial gain.
Tickets may not be used as prizes in competitions, giveaways, promotions or other commercial or promotional activity without the prior written permission of Aerospace Bristol.
Tickets obtained through unauthorised resale or promotional activity may be refused or cancelled.
12. Admission and Visitor Conduct
Admission to Aerospace Bristol is subject to compliance with reasonable visitor, safety and security requirements.
Aerospace Bristol reserves the right to refuse admission or require a visitor to leave the site where reasonably necessary, including where a person's behaviour is abusive, threatening, unsafe, unlawful, disruptive to other visitors or staff, or risks damage to the museum, aircraft, exhibits or collections.
No refund will normally be provided where admission is refused or a visitor is required to leave because of their conduct.
13. Changes Beyond Our Reasonable Control
Occasionally, circumstances beyond our reasonable control may affect the availability of parts of the museum, particular exhibits, aircraft, experiences or events.
Where reasonably necessary, Aerospace Bristol may make changes to its operation in response to circumstances including severe weather, emergency situations, security incidents, essential maintenance, conservation requirements, utility failures or instructions from relevant authorities.
Where a significant closure or cancellation occurs, we will provide information about any applicable ticket arrangements.
14. Changes to These Terms and Conditions
Aerospace Bristol may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our operations, legal or regulatory requirements or the services we provide.
Any material change that would reduce the contractual admission entitlement of an existing ticket holder will not normally be applied retrospectively to that ticket.
The version of the Terms and Conditions applicable at the time a ticket is purchased or activated, as appropriate, will govern that ticket unless a change is required by law.
